Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue service received calls at around 12.10pm today reporting a blaze that has broken out at Veolia UK incinerator on Quartremaine Road, Hilsea in Portsmouth.
Appliances from from Southsea, Cosham, Portchester and Havant are in attendance, along with other regional appliances also being called in to tackle the blaze.
Reports state that the fire broke out within a paper and plastics recycling area, smoke was seen coming from the North side of the site and a full evacuation of staff has been carried out.
Firefighters using breathing apparatus along with the aerial ladder platform are tackling the blaze.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown more to follow on this breaking incident as we get it.
